The Forest County Forestry and Recreation Committee will hold a Public Hearing October 12, 2020 at 4:30 p.m. in the County Board Room, Room 107, at 200 E Madison St., Crandon, WI 54520.

This hearing is in regards to the Forest County Forestry and Recreation Dept. building and maintaining the continuation of the Hwy 8 trail from Old Hwy 8 Rd. to the Oneida County Border.

Both written and oral testimony will be entered into the record and considered when making the decision. All persons wishing to be heard are invited to be present or give written testimony at or prior to the hearing. Upon request, maps showing location of the trail may be viewed in the Forest County Forestry and Recreation office at 200 E Madison St. Crandon, WI 54520. E-mail documentation can be requested at carly@co.forest.wi.us

Prior to this hearing, notice was given to the public on 9/16/2020 posting of notice on the east and west entrance doors of the Forest County Courthouse. The Forest Republican was noticed 9/16/2020. The notice is also posted on the county website.

HWY 8 Trail

 

COMMITTEE: FOREST COUNTY FORESTRY AND RECREATION COMMITTEE

Members Present: Campbell, Chaney, Dehart, Karl, Miller, Stamper

Members Absent: Houle

Staff: Carly DeVet, Katie Schallock

Others Present: Public attendees as well as others by go-to meeting.  

 

 

1.  Call to Order.

Meeting was called to order by Chaney at 4:30 p.m.

 

2.  Roll Call.

Six (6) members present, one (1) absent.

 

3.  Approval of Agenda.

Motion by Dehart and seconded by Miller to approve the agenda, all present voting aye, motion carried.

 

4.  Open the Public Hearing.

Chaney opened public hearing. Public and go-to meet attendees were informed of public hearing procedures.

 

5.  Comments from the Public on agenda.

Forest County ATV Association representative was present and stated club was in favor of extending HWY 8/Valley Trail. No other public comment.

 

6. Close the Public Hearing.

Chaney closed public hearing.

 

7.  Deliberation and Decision.

All present voting: Campbell (AYE), Chaney, (AYE), Dehart (AYE), Karl (AYE), Miller (AYE), Stamper (AYE). Motion by Dehart and seconded by Stamper to approve extending the HWY 8 Trail, motion carried.  

8. Adjourn.

 Motion by Karl and seconded by Dehart to Adjourn at 4:37 p.m.,              

 All present voting aye, motion carried.
