There
may be a quorum of the Forest County Board of Supervisors as the Wisconsin
Dept. of Tourism will present a JEM Grant award to Forest County Economic
Development Partnership as the sponsoring entity for the 2018 ‘Fall in Love
with the Byway’ campaign. The $38,633.00 award will fund a promotional
campaign to increase visitors and revenue to the communities and counties on
the path of the 145 mile Nicolet Wolf River Scenic Byway.
The
campaign begins September 4 and continues through October 31. We
anticipate a very positive economic impact to Forest as well as well as
neighboring counties; Langlade, Oneida, and Vilas.
The
presentation will be made by Jeff Anderson, Regional Representative for the
Wisconsin Dept. of Tourism. We invite and encourage all elected officials
to join in the celebration on Wednesday, July 18, 3:00 p.m. on the greens of
the Forest County Courthouse. With your presence, this is an opportunity
to express our gratitude to the many people involved in making the Byway a
reality; an effort that began ten years ago.
Refreshments
will be served.
There
will not be any action taken on official County business.
